A little of of Hollywood

I have been complaining about the lack of quality movies from Hollywood for a long time. But I sense that they are turning a corner. A couple of movies I saw recently give me hope that things will get improve and we will see better movies from Hollywood.

Juno - A really good movie. I haven’t seen a better movie in a while. A simple story translated very well on to the big screen. Also the actors are excellent. Juno is a witty, smart comedy about a 15 year old girl whose life takes an unexpected turn when she gets pregnant. A must watch. Just the song on the opening credits, All I want is you, is worth the price of the ticket/DVD.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – I have met a lot of people who hated this movie. I think their expectations were too high. While nowhere close to the earlier Indiana Jones movies this is a thrilling, fun movie in it’s own right. And you can’t go wrong with that soundtrack.

I have also heard very good things about Ironman and the previews for Hancock  and Dark Knight look good. So summer movie watching might not be as bad as the last couple of years.

Yosemite!

I haven’t blogged in a while. While that does not mean I suddenly have a glitzy, exciting life, I have been doing a few things.

One of the more exciting things was visiting Yosemite this Thursday and Friday, up in North California. It was just incredible! For someone who talks a lot, I must say I was struck speechless by the beauty of Yosemite valley. There aren’t words in the English laungauge to do it justice.

3. The granduer of Yosemite makes one forget the tiny grass that is just as important a part of our ecosystem as the giant sequoias. And you know I love the underdog Here is your moment in the sun mate.

Why I will never run a full marathon

Because I was half-dead after running a half-marathon, so go figure!
